Meet Our Pastor

Amy Smith was born in Central Illinois and grew up in a small town near Springfield. She graduated from Greenville College with a major in Math. She started working at State Farm Insurance Co 35 years ago, in Life Actuarial and Human Resources departments, mostly supporting the State Farm Employee Retirement Plan. She retired from State Farm July 1. 

Amy and her husband Frank (who passed away in October 2019) have 4 daughters between them and 3 grandchildren. She comes from McDowell United Methodist Church, which is an active, friendly rural church – located between Pontiac and Fairbury. 

She has participated in Toastmasters and Bible Study Fellowship (great in-depth studies!) and has recently completed the requirements for Certified Lay Speaker.  Amy will do Licensed Local Pastor training in 2021. 

In her spare time, she enjoys Pickleball, running, and reading. Amy is looking forward to learning and growing as she begins her new adventure as the pastor of the Momence and Grant Park churches.
